The Cockle Bay Residents & Ratepayers Association Inc is an elected, vibrant organisation, dedicated to working with the Cockle Bay Community.

The Cockle Bay Residents and Ratepayers AGM will take place on Saturday 15 June at 2.30 pm at Cockle Bay School Hall.

We are pleased to announce that the speakers at our AGM will be Maria Utting, Team Leader, Wastewater Network Planning, and Moana Williams, Manager, Strategic Relations and Community.

Maria and Moana will talk about:

                                                * What you personally can do to help prevent blockages and overflows

                                                * Infrastructure replacement and investment plans in the Cockle Bay area

                                                * Intensification and the so-called "qualifying matters", of water/wastewater

This will be an opportunity to learn more and ask questions. Some of the Committee have met with Watercare on previous occasions, and found them extremely informative, helpful and supportive.

Also come to the AGM and hear about:

The latest developments on the Sandspit Road apartment development application,

The Cockle Bay Beach Walkways Restoration Project's progress and plans,

Updates on proposed intensification in the area,

“Qualifying Matters” status and time line,

                                                   Howick War Memorial Hall decisions,

                                                   Pedestrian Crossings!

                                                   Howick Local Board progress.

So mark your diaries, we would love to see you there.

                                                                            All welcome!!!

   LITTEN ROAD RAISED ZEBRA CROSSING

AT is planning to build a raised zebra crossing on Litten Road outside the Litten Road Shopping Centre. You can see an image of the planned raised crossing below:

Read more about what AT is planning by clicking the button below:

The CBRRA asked AT for more information about how much the raised zebra crossing is going to cost: estimated at $272,543.16 as at 8th February 2024 and also requested about the reasons why the crossing, which is already present at the site, is to be raised. You can read the correspondence by clicking the button below:

The CBRRA also recently asked AT how much money has been spent on the project to date. As at the 19th March $42,000 has been spent on the project.  AT are unable to provide a timeline for construction of the raised zebra crossing. Click the button below to read the latest from AT to the CBRRA.

RESTORATION PROJECT; PRESENTATION TO THE HOWICK LOCAL BOARD

On September 21st, 2023, we presented an update and overview to the Howick Local Board of progress made on the Restoration Project, during the period covering the initial funding grant we received from them.

Needless to say, we're pretty proud of the transformation to date and very appreciative of the support we have received from the Howick Local Board.  But, there's still plenty more to do!
